ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A 39-year old man from Dublin is accused of coming to Dougherty County to have sex with a 13-year-old girl.
The man actually had been communicating on the internet with a Dougherty County Police Officer.
Kenneth Pearson is in the Dougherty County jail charged with obscene Internet contact with a child. He was arrested Tuesday night at a South Dougherty County curb store where officers say he expected to meet a 13-year old girl.
They urge parents to monitor their children's Internet activity. "There are definitely still predators out there that are actively looking for children to meet, to have sex with, to abduct," said Captain Jimmy Sexton.
Investigators recovered evidence in Pearson's truck they say showed he planned for a sexual encounter. The GBI seized Pearson's computer from his travel trailer home in Dublin and are searching it for evidence.
