VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  A Valdosta man is in jail Monday night accused of roughing up a woman and her grandchildren, even stabbing a 12-year old boy.

Police aren't sure why 30-year old Corey Hancock went into 58-year old Catherine Scott's home on Blitch street just before nine o'clock Sunday morning.

But they say he hit Scott in the face and stabbed Daveon Reid in the torso.

Reid is expected to recover.

Three other children suffered minor injuries.

Hancock was caught a few hours later on West Hill Avenue.

"We can say the victims did know him and identified him very quickly," said Valdosta Police Lt. Aaron Kirk. "He was apprehended later that day around noon did not give any problems to the officers when they apprehended him but he will not speak to the officers."

Hancock is in jail on numerous charges including aggravated assault, burglary, battery, simple battery, and cruelty to children.
