ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Family members of an Albany murder victim fight the defendant downtown as they prepared for the trial.
Marlina Hamilton's Defense Attorney Johnnie Graham applied for a restraining order against Erica Anderson and Cora Donaldson. Sheriff's deputies broke up a fight between them and Hamilton on North Jackson Street near the courthouse about 10 am. Graham said Hamilton was jumped by family members as she left the courthouse. Erica Anderson tells us that Hamilton hit a member of the family first. Charges are pending.
The 33 year old Hamilton is charged with shooting her ex husband, 32-year old Christopher Donaldson, last October 11th at her home on Habersham Road in a domestic dispute.
Jury selection in her murder trial is set to begin Wednesday, with testimony beginning Monday.
