ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Typically, those who have pacemakers could not undergo an MRI, but that has changed thanks to new technology.

Medtronic's RevoMRI Sure Scan Pacing System will allow pacemaker patients to undergo MRIs.

Wires within the device are compatible with the procedure. Wires in conventional pacemakers could prove catastrophic to the heart of patients if they underwent an MRI.

Individuals can have the device implanted if certain conditions are met.
