OGLETHORPE, GA (WALB) – Seven south Georgia prison guards were arrested Monday. The officers at Macon State Prison in Oglethorpe are charged with aggravated battery and violating their oath of office.

On December 16th, the members of a Correctional Emergency Response Team were taking down an inmate accused of assaulting a guard, but investigators say they went too far. The inmate they're accused of beating remains in a wheelchair.

The arrested officers are Christopher Hall, Ronald Lach, Derrick Wimbush, Willie Redden, Darren Douglas Griffin, Kerry Bolden, and Delton Rushin.
