ALBANY,  GA (WALB) –  An Atlanta author is in Albany promoting her new book meant to help kids in military families cope with loved ones serving away from home.

Carol Casey stopped by WALB Friday with her book, "Dear Baby, I'm Watching Over You".

She says the lessons in the story can help any parent reassure a child that, even when they're away, they still love them.

The story can be especially beneficial to military kids during the holiday season.

"This book got started because I have a friend who has a brother who serves in Afghanistan and he has two very young children and they are not coping well with their father being away on deployment and away on training a lot so my friend asked me to write a book," said the Dear Baby Books author, Carol Casey.

Casey will be at the Marine Corps Exchange at MCLB Albany Saturday from noon until two for a book signing as part of her nationwide tour of military bases.

She says the book also helps parents introduce the concept of patriotism to their kids.
