MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

MOULTRIE,  GA (WALB) – A Moultrie family is homeless after their house went up in flames Monday morning.

Colquitt county firefighters began battling the fire at 150 Sam Harrell Road in Moultrie just after midnight. The homeowner, Clint Gay, woke up to a smoke alarm.

Gay, his wife and their 9-year-old son got out safely, but the house is ruined. Red Cross was on the scene. We're told a firefighter suffered some burns to his face, but made it out ok.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
