Valdosta man busted for selling and producing DVDs

HOMERVILLE, GA (WALB) –A Valdosta man is busted for producing and selling thousands of DVDs from inside a rental car in Homerville.

Investigators also found equipment to make the movies and a loaded gun.

Pirated DVDs are pulled out of an impounded taurus. 26-year old Isiah Walker of Valdosta is accused of storing and selling them from the rental car.

"It's not something you run across everyday but its is something out there that people are doing to profit from," said Homerville Police Chief Wesley Walker.

Also found in the car was a DVD inverter, a computer, a tower used to duplicate several dvds at a time, and a loaded gun.

"We're not happy about him coming from another town to our town to profit from his criminal activity," said Walker.

On Thursday night a South Georgia Drug Task Force agent spotted the car he thought looked suspicious. He followed the taurus to a nearby neighborhood.

Donna Powell says she was just sitting inside watching TV when the man drove straight into her neighbor's carport. Authorities say Walker gave them a false name and also said he was visiting his girlfriend. The people who actually live there weren't home.

"There were five cops out here," said Powell. "I walked outside the yard and I saw a man jump out the car."

Walker is charged with unauthorized reproduction of recorded material, giving false information, possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and having an item without a serial number. Homerville police say Walker was already on probation for similar crimes.
