ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Another round of layoffs at MCLB Albany Thursday, and possibly the last, at least for a while.
Base contractor AECOM let another 41 contract workers go Thursday, bringing to 300 the number laid off since November 6th. The contractor doesn't need the workers because not much war equipment is coming back to MCLB Albany for repairs.
The layoffs have been implemented about 50 workers a week. Thursday's layoffs are the last expected at this time.
