ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A new Albany restaurant opened its doors today to anyone in need of a free Thanksgiving meal
L'Jua's located across the street from Albany State University opened just a few weeks ago, but they are already eager to give back to the community.
Today the chef prepared enough food to feed close to 300 people for free.
Folks who stopped by got a plateful of turkey with all the fixing's along with red velvet cake and peanut butter squares.
"This is something we used to do every year back in Detroit so it is something I wanted to bring to southwest Georgia and just let people know you can always get a good meal without having to pay for it," said Bradley Patterson, Executive Chef.
The Chef says all employees working today volunteered their time and weren't paid.
