(NBC) - A Florida deputy shot a wild hog that was creating problems for a Lehigh Acres neighborhood Friday morning.
A 911 caller said the hog, which weighed 150-175 pounds, was grunting and threatening a woman and her dog. She said she had to head back into her house to get away from the animal.
Cell phone video also showed the hog after it chased two young girls out of their yard and back into their home.
A deputy arrived and saw the animal wandering around the neighborhood.
The deputy witnessed similar aggressive behavior in the animal and used a shotgun to put it down.
The Department of Transportation had the animal removed.
The sheriff's office will review the deputy's use of the gun in this case, as they do every time a weapon is discharged, to ensure it met department guidelines.
