Albany man headed to prison for elderly attack

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –

An Albany man is headed to prison for a brutal attack on an 84 year old woman.

39 year old Cedric Parker was found guilty today

of beating 84 year old Ester Eckstein February 3rd at her Highland Avenue home. The aunt of former Sheriff Jamil Saba, suffered a broken hip in the attack.

A well known crossing guard for more than 30 years, Eckstein was attacked and robbed while she was giving food to Parker, who told her he was hungry.

He was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
