ALBANY,  GA (WALB) –  Hundreds of people donated canned goods to Subway restaurants and Sunday, and left with a full stomach!

Subways in Decatur and Grady counties collected canned and boxed foods for America's Second Harvest Sunday.

More than three hundred people donated food, and in return got a free 6 inch sub. It's an annual event at the Subway in Cairo, and they say they had more donations this year than ever before.

"We did a lot of business it was very successful this year. We had like 300 something pounds and like six boxes," said Sabrina Simmons, Subway Manager. The owner packed up the food and sent it to the food bank yesterday.
