News release from WCPS-
Sylvester, Georgia – November 12, 2009 –Worth County Primary School will be holding their annual Native American Day and first ever Colonial American Day on November 20, 2009.
There will be booths set up where the students will be able to interact and learn about Native Americans and Colonial Americans. The celebrations will be held in the play area beside the school.
At the Native American day last year the students got a taste of sugar cane, made jewelry, listened to how they made clothing, and saw what tools were used in hunting and cooking food.
They got to see furs and learned how the Native Americans made their clothing.
The students really enjoy attending and this is a great way for them to be outside of the classroom and learn at the same time.
