In some places in the country, people aren't giving as much time either, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Some non-profit leaders are thankful south Georgians are still volunteering.
ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The need is up, and donations are down.
"Last year we had over 500 individuals volunteer at the Food Bank we've seen a drastic increase I don't think it's so much the economy as the exposure the Food Bank is getting," said Brett Kirkland, Food Bank President.

Last year Keep-Albany Dougherty County beautiful presented a check to commissioners, showing that in the past 20 years volunteers have done more than $65.4 million worth of work in the city and county. With the holidays almost here, many non-profits need extra help.
