Arrest made in Macon County shooting death

FORT VALLEY, GA – On Monday, November 9, 2009, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the GBI was requested by the Macon County Sheriff’s Department to investigate a shooting which occurred outside the residence of 3522 Camp John Hope Road in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Upon investigators arrival at the scene it was determined that Octavius Terill Haslam (24) had received a single gun shot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Jerome Riley III (21) has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder in the shooting death of Haslam.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
