ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority took more steps Wednesday to get back on solid ground.

Board members approved a final draft of new bylaws that set rules and regulations. That's a step they had to take to ensure future funding from the city.

They also learned their $6-million bond has closed which means they now have a line of credit they can use to help convince businesses to locate downtown.

Interim Director James Taylor says there are already plans in the works.

"We want to do all that Front Street piece and then move up along Broad and Pine with some nice structures that would include some retail on the first floor, office space on the second and possible apartments or condos on the third," said Taylor.

ADICA will have to repay the city an advance of nearly a half million dollars on that bond.

They're also reviewing facade grants issued by jailed former director Don Buie. At Wednesday night's meeting, they decided Subway can keep its $22,000 dollar grant pending authorization from the city.
