ALBANY, GA (WALB) -An Albany furniture store is being closed, and it's 15 employees will lose their jobs, more victims of the bad economy.
Havertys Furniture on North Westover Boulevard will be shutting it's doors January 18th. Havertys is the only public retail furniture company in the country, and in the top ten in furniture sales, but says the recession has really hit them hard.
Their lease on their store is up, and Havertys officials say they decided to leave the market. Albany and Hattiesburg Mississippi are the two cities they have exited so far in 2009. They have 120 stores across the Southeast.
