WORTH COUNTY, GA (WALB) - That Worth county pony we told you about that was attacked by dogs in his backyard had to be put to sleep Sunday afternoon.
Just hours after we first reported that we received a e-mails from a couple of people wanting to donate their animal to replace the one the family lost.
8-year-old Onyx was attacked by three dogs. He suffered for more than a week from injuries and was euthanized yesterday.
Onyx belonged to a six-year-old girl who is devastated by the loss. Now a family in Moultrie is offering to donate their 17-year-old horse to the little girl.
And a 17-year-old Atkinson County boy is willing to give his pony to the family. He says it looks just like Onyx.
We tried to contact Worth county animal control officials again today to get information on the dog owners but they didn't return our phone calls.
