ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Smash and grab crooks crashed through the windows of two Dougherty County convenience stores in the last 48 hours. One of the break-ins was caught on tape.

Watch this. A white car smashes down the front doors of the Hav-Mor Food Store on West Gordon at 5:10 Saturday morning.

A thief with a white mask tied over his face races around the counter and grabs a bag and an armful of cigarettes, puts them in the car, and then comes back for another load. The same basic thing happened about 1:30 Monday morning at the Fast Lane on Sylvester Road.

Store clerk Darshan Dave said  "I guess just the Newports. They knew what to come and get and they know what they are doing. They seemed like professionals, you know, guys."

The Hav Mor store sustained about 3 thousand dollars in damage, with another four thousand dollars in cigarettes stolen. The surveillance video did not work at the Fast Lane, but witnesses say the thief was about 5-6, to 5-8 inches tall, wore an orange jacket with a white mask.

Police are looking for a White Cutlass, tag number DMA 2587. That car was reported stolen last week in Albany.

If you have any information, call Dougherty County Police at 430-6600 or CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
