ALBANY,  GA (WALB) - Worth County An Ohio truck driver is charged with vehicular homicide for a deadly wreck in Worth County.

25 year old Julie Tyler of Hahira was killed when that truck driver ran a stop sign at Highways 112 and 133. Tyler worked for LifeTouch Portraits.

When her car hit the big rig, it became lodged below the undercarriage and was dragged nearly 500 feet as the truck skidded down the highway.

Just before 1:00, a Toyota Camry collided with a tractor trailer rig. Tyler was killed. "He was coming up north on 112, crossing 133, and failed to stop at the intersection," said Georgia State Trooper Scott McClure.

Tyler was traveling east on 133 when the tractor trailer crossed in front of her, and she hit the back left side of the semi. "The tractor trailer drug the vehicle down the road about 500 feet," said McClure.

"It was a horrendous crash," said  witness. "It was like slow motion."

The shaken witness didn't want to be on camera, but described what she saw. "The car hit underneath the truck, I went out there to see if I could help, I called 911 first."

First responders were on the scene quickly, but there was nothing they could do. the woman was killed on impact.

"He was unfamiliar with the area, but that's more reason to pay attention while your out driving," said McClure.

Being negligent on the roadways, this is sometimes the consequence you have to pay

For witnesses on the scene, it was too much to bear. "I instantly started praying for both of them. My heart goes out to the families of both the driver and the victim."

Families that will never be the same again.

The trucker, 61 year old William Fishbaugh, of Greenwich, Ohio, is charged with running a stop sign, reckless driving and first degree vehicular homicide. He's in the Worth County Jail.
