ALBANY, GA (WALB) - According to Ocilla PD, Monday night around 11:00, 33-year-old Martinez Johnson was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon east on Pine Street.
Police said when he came up to a dead-end at North McKinley St., he failed to stop, and kept on driving through a neighborhood.
They said his vehicle knocked down fences, dog houses and dogs before hitting a tree, and over-turning.
Johnson was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger 24-year-old Diondra Battle, was trapped in the vehicle and transported to Irwin County Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Diondra's 7-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries, was air-lifted to Macon, and is currently in serious condition.
The accident is still under investigation.
Both Johnson and Battle are from Ocilla.
