ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A few details were released Saturday in a child molestation case involving an Albany Police officer who had sexual relations with a young girl.
46-year old Corporal Vincent Romone Wadley was arrested Friday and is charged with child molestation.
The department told WALB that a family member came to them with the information.
APD arrested Wadley after consulting with prosecutors.
The sex act happened in May of 2008, police wouldn't say how old the girl was but only that she was under the age of 16.
As far as investigators know it only happened once.
Chief John Proctor suspended Wadley without pay. He's been with department for five years and was assigned to the theft Unit.
