ADEL, GA (WALB) - An inmate escaped overnight from the Cook County Jail. Sheriff officials say 30-year-old Robert Keith McCormick was cleaning the floors while on work detail when he slipped through a side door around midnight.
Deputies searched for McCormick throughout the early morning hours but were unable to track him down. McCormick, who has ties to the Sparks community, is described as 5'8 170 pounds with tattoos on his chest, back, right leg and on both arms. He also goes by the nickname, Lil' Duck.
McCormick was being held on a probation violation related to recent drug charges. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the Cook County Sheriff's Office at 229-896-7471.
