ALBANY,  GA (WALB) - A Climax convenience store was robbed late Monday night, and it was all caught on tape. The two clerks who were working are OK, but investigators need your help to find the robber.

The masked robber burst in the store last night and got away with $300 in a matter of minutes. Luckily no one was hurt, but workers at the convenience store were hesitant when they walked into work this morning.

Nicoa West rings up customers this afternoon at the Climax Quick Buys, still shaken by what happened an hour before closing. West wasn't working last night, but two of her co-workers were, when they were robbed at gunpoint.

"Just to view what happened on the camera made me cry because these are my employees," she said.

Once the robber was in the store he confronted the first clerk right here with his gun, forced her to the back of the store where they other clerk was loading groceries.

Then he sent both the women back to the front of the store, to get the money. He keeps the women close, and heads straight for the cash register.

The clerk takes out a stash of twenties, hands it to the robber, and in a flash, the thief is out the door.

"After the call we got a perimeter set up, with the dogs," said Decatur Co. Sheriff  Wiley Griffin.

GSP helicopters even got involved. That's when things got interesting. "We had a citizen call us about a high speeder leaving climax. We stopped the car," he said.

The driver, 26-year-old, Nakita Carter, ran, and was arrested around 2:00 this morning.

It turns out he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, guilty of a suspended license, not robbery.

Meaning the man in the video, is still on the loose. "We need the public's help. He had a blue knit cap, gray shirt, long pants, he's a black male."

Nicoa knows the robber is still out there, but she's just thankful her friends are OK.

The important thing you probably noticed in the video is that the two women didn't panic, followed the robber's instructions, and walked away from the situation unharmed, just a little shaken up.

In addition to that man with the suspended license, Sheriff's investigators also arrested a man walking near the convenience store who was wearing gloves and white shoes like the robber.

Turns out he had outstanding warrants but had nothing to do with the robbery.
