Ga. woman hospitalized in Alabama after shooting

Associated Press - August 26, 2009 4:24 PM ET

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A Georgia woman has been hospitalized with life threatening injuries in Alabama after a shooting.

Early County Georgia Sheriff's Capt. Will Caudill said 24-year-old Rachelle Graham suffered injuries to her head and possibly in other areas of her body during the Wednesday shooting.

She was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in serious condition.

Caudill said investigators have arrested 23-year-old Mary Lee Barber, of Blakely, Ga., and charged her with felony aggravated assault.

Deputies responded to a shooting call around 7 a.m. in Blakely and found Graham inside her vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Caudill said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two women that apparently escalated.
