ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Several law enforcement agencies jumped into action after a robbery at an East Albany bank.
A man slipped a note to a teller at SB&T on East Oglethorpe at about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Police say he walked around for a few minutes, left out and then came back in before slipping that note to a teller demanding money.
He got away with an undetermined amount of cash and drove away in a tan-colored 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. After a lookout was placed, Worth County authorities spotted the vehicle. 45-year-old Neomon Daniels was eventually pulled over and arrested at an intersection in Cordele.
"He did get pretty far pretty fast but thankfully we responded here quickly enough to get him in custody quickly thanks also to help from surrounding agencies. Several were called out including the FBI," said Albany Police Media Manager Phyllis Whitley-Banks.
There's still no indication that the robber threatened the use of any kind of weapon. As of late Tuesday night, Daniels was still being questioned at the Law Enforcement Center in downtown Albany and was not yet charged with the robbery.
There were four tellers and one customer inside the bank at the time. No one was hurt.
