He became a devoted member of the Saint Maryland Baptist Church in Leary, Georgia under the leadership of the late Rev. Z. H. Bailey. He served faithfully as a member and was ordained as a Deacon. Raleigh was chosen as Assistant Chairman of the Deacon Board and later served as Chairman. During his chairmanship, the church was paid for and the mortgage "ceremoniously" burned. Two brothers, Andrew Williams and Robert James Williams, and one sister, Mattie Dora Brown, preceded him in death. Treasuring his memory with fondness and love are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family and friends.
