ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Baconton storm victim has been waiting for weeks for money from her insurance company. She called WALB News Ten for help, and we got results.
We introduced you to Mollie Jones early last month. Back on March 28th, a strong storm blew a tree onto her home and flood waters threatened the home. She filed an insurance claim that day.
She moved all her belongings into storage and she's paying to stay with a relative. Jones says her insurance premiums were up to date, but the insurance company hasn't been responsive.
She said, "I really want some help so I can get my home fixed, you know? It's no fun out there being without a home you know? It's terrible, really and I just want to cry all the time, so excuse me for getting emotional, okay? But I'm really upset, 'cause I paid my money and I want action and they just keep giving me the runaround."
WALB News 10 contacted Jones' insurance company Wednesday and asked them to look into the matter. They called her back this afternoon and told her she will be getting the full amount of her policy since the house is a total loss. There are just a few pieces of paperwork to complete.
