ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Officials report a Tornado touched down causing major damage to some areas in the small community of Parrott in Terrell County, there are reports of a lot of trees and power lines down.
One mobile home was blown away when the twister came through, all that's left is the floor and a few belongings, water heater, bath tub; there was one woman inside Firefighters told WALB-TV she survived with a few scrapes.
Also in Parrott, a homeowner was in her bed as the storms passed through; her husband woke her just as winds leveled barns in their back yard.
Boards from the barn ripped through parts of the house, broken glass was all over the bed where she was just seconds before.
In plains, several giant oaks fell on a house and did major damage to the roof; volunteers were cutting trees and cover the roof with tarps before more rain fell.
