ASU Track and Field gets set to take on SIAC Championship

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The ASU Golden Rams are getting ready to take off in this weeks conference championships.

The Rams are hoping their success from this year will show on the big stage this weekend.

ASU hasn't hung a banner for the Track and Field team since the Men's squad back in 2017.

But individual Rams have had success since that time.

ASU standouts Joshua Ajiero and Cervantes Jackson will be looking to reclaim their titles, and make another appearance at nationals.

“Well they’re already ranked nationally," said ASU assistant Track and Field coach Robert Smith. "So, Josh is on the 800 list as number 4 in the nation right now. Cervantes is on the triple jump list and the high jump list. So, they’re going to Texas already. So, we’re just looking to get up there and win the whole thing.”

The Rams will be heading up to Rock Hill, South Carolina from April 18th till April 20th.

Hopefully the Rams and Lady Rams can bring home a few titles with them.
