ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Friends and family said their goodbyes to a legendary South Georgia Civil Rights activist.
Evelyn Toney’s funeral was at Shiloh Baptist Church Saturday at 1 p.m.
Toney was the first woman to be arrested in the Albany Movement.
The family wanted to say their goodbyes where the Albany Civil Rights Movement started.
The activist died Wednesday morning from health complications.
She was 79-years-old.
