ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany teen could face more charges after Dougherty County Police said he drove a stolen car at an officer, while on the run before overturning on Sands Drive.
Detective David Flick with DCP said the teen was bonded out of jail for other serious crimes since February 9 and took off his ankle monitor before car thefts on Parrish Lane, Sylvester Road and nearby areas.
DCP said the teen had an arraignment appearance yesterday for three charges, theft by taking, motor vehicle theft, and aggravated battery of a police officer.
However, two more charges will be added.
“We were able to connect him with evidence that we recovered from inside the stolen vehicle. We were able to connect the 16 year-old with entering autos that took place on Hill Road,” said Detective Flick.
Detective Flick said the teen is in the Dougherty County Jail and the two new charges will be added soon.
