THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Thomasville Police made a prostitution arrest over the weekend after several complaints about prostitution in local neighborhoods were made.

TPD says it's recently increased patrol around Wall and Booker Streets.

Saturday evening, an officer caught a man and woman inside a vehicle parked behind a vacant home on Wall Street. The woman, Ashley Ford, was charged with prostitution. The man, Mack Copeland, was charged with solicitation.

"Prostitution within itself brings a whole array of other crime that could occur, such as drug activity and things like that. These people call in their neighborhood because they want to improve their quality of life," said Maj. Wade Glover with TPD.

TPD says the complaints on Wall and Booker Streets all regard sex and drug-related activity. Officers plan to continue their heightened patrol in the area.
