TIFTON, GA (WALB) - If your child experienced a sudden death or the loss of someone they love, there’s a camp for you to consider.
Hospice of Tift Area will be holding its 10th Annual Camp Reflections on Feb. 23.
It’s a support session used to teach children how to cope with death.
The bereavement coordinator at the hospice said children are invited to use arts and crafts, story time and music to cope with loss.
“They haven’t developed the coping skills or the language skills to express what they’re feeling,” said Kathy Moneypenny. “So camp is intended to help them develop some more coping skills, or to identify the coping skills they have in place and how to use those skills.”
Representatives said the camp is free and it’ll be held at the Tift Regional Community Events Center.
Children ages 6 to 12 can register, but organizers said they’re open to helping younger children.
If you want to register your child, you can call (229) 353-6330.
