TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Cupid will be shooting his arrows of love Thursday and Eighth Street Middle School is joining in on the effort.
Middle school students and staff sent more than a thousand virtual cards to a children’s hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Principal Chad Stone said all faculty and students sent Valentine cards to families through their Chrome books.
The cards went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude said people can select a card design and send a message that will appear on screens throughout the hospital.
Students were happy to help those in need and work towards achieving a new goal in the Tift County school system.
“I think it makes them feel like special and loved and that other people care about what they’re going through,” said Lindsey Kreschollek, a seventh grader.
Said Stone: “We have a Chrome book initiative this year in Tift County where all of our six, twelve students had Chrome books to help us academically to be successful in our classroom.”
St. Jude said anyone can send a virtual card and have until the end of Valentine’s Day Thursday.
