Suspect arrested for multiple armed robberies in Moultrie

Moultrie armed robbery follow up

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The Moultrie Police Department have arrested a man Friday they say is responsible for three armed robberies.

Police told WALB they were able to connect one man to multiple armed robberies because each crime was carried out the same way, by locking the victims in a bathroom each time.

Investigators said they used that information and the victims’ testimonies to connect William Green to robberies since last June.

Officers said the victims at Advanced Auto Parts were able to quickly call 911.

Thankfully, one officer happened to be in the area and notice a car matching the description.

Investigators say they arrested Green minutes after he left the store.

Moultrie Police Sergeant Vernon Nobles said they realized the method this suspect used was very similar to two unsolved robbery cases.

“It was kind of like the same M-O on all three, where the offender tries to lock the victims in the bathroom," said Nobles.

Sgt. Nobles said Green now faces dozens of charges including, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.

He told us this arrest will allow these employees to finally feel safe again. Especially, at Advanced Auto Parts which was robbed twice.

“It does a lot. It puts the citizens at ease, and especially the employees at these stores,” said Nobles.

Sgt. Nobles told WALB they aren’t sure when they would’ve been able to solve these three cases, if the officer who arrested Green wasn’t in the area, paying close attention to everything around him.
