Coffee Co. law enforcement believes missing woman is one of two bodies found Saturday

COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) - Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are still investigating the deaths of two individuals found Saturday near Nicholls.

According to the sheriff’s office, the bodies are believed to be those of Kristian Bell, 25, and Steven James Ward, 35.

Investigators are still waiting on positive identification of both bodies from the Georgia Crime Lab.

Currently, Chief Deputy Fred Cole with the Coffee County Sheriffs office, said it is an ongoing investigation, but the first thing is to make sure they notify the families when they identify those two victims.

“Well obviously, the number one priority is notifying the families of their identification," said Cole. "The case is ongoing, I mean we’ve been investigating this since we were notified of it on February the 5th I believe. It’s been ongoing since then and that part has never stopped.”
