Victim’s sister wants violence to end after weekend shooting death of brother

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - The multi-agency manhunt for the person who is a suspect in the death of Andre Ingram, 34, after a weekend shooting in Americus came to an end Wednesday.

Police were looking for Deontrey Parker, 24, in connection to Ingram’s death.

Parker turned himself into police Wednesday afternoon.

Parker has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Investigators believe he shot and killed Ingram Sunday night in the 900 block of Parker Street.

Andre’s sister, Porsha Ingram, said the violence has to stop.

“Put these guns down and stop these senseless crimes. It’s senseless,” said Porsha.

There has been no word on a motive at this time.
