Gary Goff welcomed as new head football coach at VSU

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Gary Goff has officially been introduced as the 10th head football coach for the Valdosta State Blazers.

Goff seemed ready, and excited to begin his role as the leader of the VSU Blazers.

The Blazers are coming off that reacord setting year in 2018... taking their fourth national title... and finding their first undefeated season.

But Goff isn’t a stranger to great teams, or the Blazers.

Goff was with the Blazers during their first two playoff season in 1994 and 1996.

He is coming off that 9-2 season with the Tiffin University Dragons and seems ready for the challenge that awaits him at VSU.

“Yeah it’s very exciting and I look forward to getting all my former teammates and alumni back involved with the program,” said Goff. “I think that’s very important for recruiting and getting back on campus and see what’s taking place on this phenomenal university. So, we couldn’t be more excited, me and my wife, just coming back home and being apart of something special.”

Goff will look to continue the Blazers undefeated streak in the 2019 season.
