Former Falcons player, Adel native pleads guilty to possession

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Adel native and former NFL player pleaded guilty to drug charges this week in Albany Federal Court.

Kenny Tippins, 52, of Adel, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute on Wednesday, according to Charles Peeler, the U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.

Tippins was a linebacker that played for the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 and then for the Atlanta Falcons from 1990 to 1995.

Tippins is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Louis Sands on April 11.
