The city joins in celebrating the 2018 VSU national champions

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -The Blazers have seemingly done everything they wanted to this season.

I’m sure they might have had a 2018 season bucket list with things they hoped and dreamed would come true this season.

Like you said, undefeated season for the first time in school history, conference champions, and their first national title since 2012.

A pretty remarkable season this past year, and now they are getting their just rewards.

The Blazers are now receiving all the love and support they’ve really felt all season long from their fans and loved ones.

But now, it’s time to put a little weight on the finger.

Most of these players have had a long road to get to this point, but some of those seniors will never forget this moment.

“For these guys to have seen us and see everything that we went through, and to fight through the season and fight through it,"said senior center Jeremy King. "Go to practice every day and work and grind every day with these same guys. Just the hard work ethic and the leadership.”

“Our team was just so close together and just work hard together," said Senior kicker Andrew Gray. "Like, no one went off and did an individual thing. But for us to work together this whole season, then that clock expire at the end of the national championship game. And for us to be the national champions, that was pretty special.”
