ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Westover High School is the only one of the Dougherty County Schools gthat doesn't have an alumnus with a Super Bowl Ring.
That could change for the Patriots if the Patriots pull out the win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.
Trent Brown is a former Deerfield-Windsor knight and Westover Patriot, now he’s the left tackle for the New England Patriots.
He's started all 16 games, and will start the Super Bowl in a couple weeks.
The Pats took down the Chiefs last night in a 37-31 overtime thriller.
It’s been the domination of the Patriots offensive line that’s gotten them playing on the final Sunday of the season for the third straight season.
Tom Brady hasn't been sacked in either playoff game.
And New England rushed for 176 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.
Octavia Jones coached Brown for his senior season at Westover and says he couldn’t be more proud.
“He was just a special person to be around when I first met him I had the opportunity to see that he was hungry to be successful." said Jones who is now Westover High School Athletics Director.
"He always talked about having the opportunity to move on to big time college football and one day to the NFL. He’s reached all of his goals and I guess the only thing left for him now is a super bowl ring.”
The Patriots and Rams face off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium February 6th in Atlanta.
