Moultrie residents can receive alerts when garbage pick-up is rescheduled

Moultrie Garbage New List

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The changes in scheduling for trash pick-up is causing some garbage build up in Moultrie.

Over the past few weeks, Public Works crews have been trying to find ways to let their 5,000 customers know when their garbage will be collected on a different day.

Starting Monday, Moultrie Public Works will call or e-mail you when there's a schedule change.

Director Danny Ward said this is an effective way to maximize communication between them and their customers.

“It should keep any frustration down. They’ll be aware of what’s going on, they’ll know we’re just not missing it, that there’s going to be a reschedule," explained Ward.

Ward said to sign up for this service, you can call the Moultrie Public Works Department at (229) 668-5423. He said this service will only be effective if people sign up.

Ward said that in the future, they’ll try putting together a text message chain to keep their customers informed.
