ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A middle school student was arrested after bringing an inoperable pellet gun and knife on campus Friday, according to the Dougherty County School District.
The school system’s police department arrested a male student at Radium Springs Middle School.
“While the investigation is ongoing, the student has been charged with possession of a weapon in a school safety zone with other charges pending,” the school district said in a release. “He was released to his parents.”
Superintendent Kenneth Dyer commended teachers and administrators in their handling of the incident, the district said in a release.
