THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - An arrest warrant was issued in connection to an assault that happened in Thomasville.

According to the Thomasville Police Department, Kimsey Jones is facing aggravated assault charges after getting into a fight with another woman over a guy they both like.

Nekia McMillan was the victim, and her mother, Sheena Cochran, is also facing a misdemeanor charge after recording the fight that happened at Remington Park.

At one point in the video you could hear Jones shoot her gun in Mcmillan’s direction.

Thomasville Police Captain Maurice Holmes said he has seen more disagreements result in gunfire. He said this dispute happened in the afternoon and was incredibly reckless of Jones to fire a gun with so many people in the area.

“Even if she didn’t hit the victim, it’s a possibility that there are kids out there at this park, and other innocent bystanders at this park that frequent it on a daily basis, and she’s out there being reckless with a handgun," said Holmes.

Holmes said they weren’t able to connect anyone to the reported gunfire until the following day when McMillan reported Jones had slashed her tires.

Jones is also being charged with criminal damage to property for slashing the tires.

Holmes told WALB that if you hear or see behavior like this, you should report it to police. He said it may prevent someone from getting seriously injured.
