Thronateeska Heritage Center upgrades the Wetherbee planetarium

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Thronateeska Heritage Center is giving the Wetherbee planetarium an renovation.

The newly upgraded planetarium will open Thursday morning.

The new system will have a new I-Q 2400 Cannon lasser projector and new software that will extend their programming.

Hannah Beth Hembree, Director of Museums, says she’s excited for the upgrade and what all it will bring to the community.

“This will not only help with school groups, this will also help with the general public and the type of programming we can do for the public to get them down here and just learn about this great resource that Albany has," says Hembree.

The museum is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
