Multi-county high-speed chase ends in arrest

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - One man is behind bars in Tift County, after leading Georgia State Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase through two South Georgia counties on Wednesday.

John Alderman was charged with eluding law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.

Troopers said Alderman was going southbound on Highway 125 in Tifton and was passing in a no passing zone. When a trooper tried to stop him, Alderman took off, leading a chase that reached speeds of 95 miles per hour.

The chase finally ended in Berrien County near Enigma.

Alderman is being held in the Tift County jail.
