VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Wednesday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and one community is doing their best to show appreciation to those that protect and serve.
Community leaders and dozens of members of the community all came together, wearing their blue, to celebrate the work done by law enforcement.
We spoke to David Stone, a member of the community, about what message he wants to send to law enforcement by attending this event.
“Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for being there for me if my family needs it. Your sacrifice and your time away from your family for mine—that’s an amazing thing man. It’s a selfless thing and every single one of you—I love you," said Lowndes County resident, David Stone.
Stones said his support for the officers and deputies is simple.
He wants to show them appreciation for the job that they do, the dangers they face, and the sacrifices they have to make.
