ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you've seen an increase in robocalls, it could be because of the shutdown.

Consumers normally put their numbers on the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call registry.

The agency then notifies telemarketers that people don’t want unsolicited calls.

WALB reached out to the FTC and an email stated they were closed because of the shutdown.
